Carolyn Craig

  • PARKER Contemporary 38 Hope Street South Brisbane, QLD, 4101 Australia (map)

Carolyn Craig’s practice examines how power is embedded in bodies, biological relations, and physical architectures. Working with photography and print as dynamic, inscriptive performances of the body, she interrogates the visual tropes and stereotypes that shape how we are seen, read, and regulated. Craig’s research-driven approach shaped by her PhD from the Queensland College of Art and her position as Head of Printmaking at the National Art School underscores her interest in the printed image as both a material site and a social system.

In this exhibition, Craig reconfigures print and photographic processes to expose and unsettle the subtle architectures of power that structure everyday experience.
