Lone Veirup.
Lone Veirup is a Danish–Australian emerging artist based in Brisbane, working on Turrbal and Yuggara Country. Her multidisciplinary practice spans printmaking, photography and textiles, with a particular emphasis on slow, haptic processes. Through these methods, she examines the forms of alienation produced by contemporary consumer culture and our increasingly mediated relationship to the everyday.
Veirup is one half of the New Quotidian Collective with Mick Keast, a collaboration that explores how the prosaic, ordinary aspects of daily life shape our world. The Collective works across assemblage, sculpture, installation and digital media, using found objects and suburban detritus of consumer culture to reframe and reclaim the everyday.
