Ebony Wright.

Ebony Wright is an emerging artist currently undertaking a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Queensland College of Art and Design, majoring in Contemporary Sculpture, Performance and Installation. Alongside this, she engages with conceptually driven printmaking, with a particular focus on papermaking and artist books in response to contemporary print culture.

Dividing her time between her hometown of Mackay and Brisbane inform her understanding of place, labour and identity. She is interested in the conceptual properties of printmaking and the capacity of paper-based practices to hold narrative, gesture and trace. Looking ahead, Wright aims to develop work and spaces that offer young people a sense of possibility, supporting them to cultivate their own voices and to reflect on how they inhabit and make sense of the world.
