Hill uses the artist's book form to explore ideas of knowledge through text, image, and more pointedly, translation. Walter Benjamin describes translation between two languages as a 'higher language' that neither discursive system individually could attain. This concept finds material form in Siento y siento. Through the process of translation, Spanish and English languages merge and expand towards the non-discursive. Hill uses visual language through images, typefaces, and elements of the bookform to shape the reader's embodied experience of this expansion, expressing vulnerability through poetry that references the intradualities of a bi-cultural experience.
